🔒 AI and quantum computers: together or apart?

Artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum computers (QC) are two groundbreaking technologies of the 21st century. The former is already widely used in many fields, while quantum computers are just beginning to move from the research phase to practical applications.

Artificial intelligence mimics the human characteristic thought processes. It learns, reasons, solves problems and makes decisions. It operates thanks to complex systems that create and implement algorithms. In turn, the learning ability ensures its flexibility and wide adaptability. It uses classic, though specialized computer equipment; for instance, GPU graphics processors.

Quantum computers utilize the principles of quantum mechanics, and based on them, they can perform calculations that are impossible for classical computers. Thanks to phenomena such as superposition, entanglement and quantum tunneling, they can operate on qubits, which are the quantum equivalents of classical bits. Unlike a bit, a qubit can be in a state of 0, 1, or any superposition of states 0 and 1. This enables the processing of huge amounts of information at a speed inaccessible to computers that operate on traditional digital components.
