Since the beginning of the new school year, Norwegian pupils from years 1-7 aren’t supposed to use AI on their own while doing tasks. In years 8-10, AI tools can be gradually introduced after having prepared the teachers accordingly. In high school, pupils will learn to use it as a preparation for further education and work.
You could say Norway is trying to stop new technology from entering through the school doors, but the truth is that their adopted model is based on something else: separating teaching AI from using generative tools independently.
