For years, the IT department has been the protector of the organization’s digital assets. Today, employees use dozens of AI tools that IT has never approved and often doesn’t even know about. How can we ensure security without restricting the use of modern tools?

Typical end of quarter at a medium-sized company. The team is working under time pressure. The number of documents is growing by the day, deadlines are getting tighter, and the number of hours stays the same. At some point, someone comes up with an idea: let’s use an AI tool I found online.

A few clicks, a quick sign-in with the work email address, and the virtual agent is connected to the company’s cloud drive. The result is immediate: reports start being produced faster, and the team saves dozens of work hours. From a manager’s perspective, this is an example of genuine bottom-up innovation.
