OpenAI representatives emphasized that the device they’ve worked on as part of the project aims to be completely different to the smart devices we’ve been used to. Its goal isn’t to compete with iPhones or MacBooks, but open up a whole new category — a personal AI companion that works in the background and doesn’t distract the user.
