But at the same time, we&#8217;re in a bubble and a lot of people will lose a lot of money. Both statements are true at the same time and history has many examples of this,&#8221; he said.<\/p><h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Lessons from the dotcom bubble<\/strong><\/h4><p>Taylor compared the current situation to the late 90s, when the world was captivated by the internet. Thousands of startups were emerging, investments were growing at a crazy pace, and company valuations were soaring. Then, the bubble burst \u2014 many ventures ceased operations, and many people lost a lot of money.<\/p><p>However, as Taylor emphasizes, everyone in 1999 was right about the direction of change. The internet indeed revolutionized the economy, though not necessarily in the way they had imagined.<\/p><h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why isn&#8217;t this a problem?<\/strong><\/h4><p>Taylor believes that bubbles are a natural stage in the development of breakthrough technologies. Hype draws capital and talent, allows for experimenting on a large scale and accelerates market maturity.
