This is the result of the collaboration between the Railway Protection Guard and the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR). Cameras and sensors are meant to monitor railroad crossings 24/7 and analyze images in real time. In case of detecting a threat, e.g. a vehicle blocking the railway track, the system will be able to immediately alert the appropriate services, enabling quick preventive actions.

s well as enhancing the current security, AI can also prevent many breakdowns. By analyzing both historical and the latest data, systems can identify infrastructure elements that need fixing even before they break. This, in turn, helps minimize downtime and maintenance costs.

According to the latest news, the system is still being implemented. We hope to hear soon about the final stage – turning theory into practice.

Will AI be in charge of OSH?

Surveily is a company from Wrocław that specializes in automating the supervision of compliance with occupational safety and health regulations in manufacturing plants. Their solution is based on real-time analysis of video materials from the company’s monitoring – with the support of artificial intelligence, of course, which allows to identify potentially dangerous situations immediately.

The solutions offered by the company not only help increase the physical safety of employees, but also cover other aspects of privacy and data processing. While they are based on video analysis, they do not include biometric elements or face recognition, anonymize the collected images by blurring them, and comply with GDPR.

Surveily collaborates with Orlen, among other companies. Thanks to this cooperation, the number of dangerous incidents was reduced by 75% within the first 16 weeks of implementation.

Protection against cyber attacks

WB Electronics S.A. is the only Polish company that has joined the Artificial Intelligence Deployable Agent (AIDA) project, funded by the European Defence Fund. The aim of this project is to develop effective methods for protecting artificial intelligence and machine learning-based systems from threats such as autonomous and semi-autonomous adversarial attacks in various domains: land, air, sea, space, and cyberspace.

The company is responsible for the land defence aspect. They focus on operational scenarios of system cooperation that enhance situational awareness with military crewed and unmanned platforms. Project AIDA, scheduled for three and a half years, officially kicked off at the end of 2024 and involves cooperation between 24 businesses and research institutions from 14 European countries.

Digital identity verification platform

Authologic offers a platform that integrates modern e-ID technologies, biometric verification and open banking data, allowing companies to efficiently and securely verify customer identities. KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) processes are becoming more effective, which in turn results in faster customer onboarding, reducing fraud risk and lowering operational costs.

Thanks to AI, Authologic is able to detect fake documents and prevent fraud based on advanced techniques such as deep-fake.

In October 2024, as part of the Series A funding round led by OpenOcean, with the participation of Y Combinator, Peak Capital, and SMOK VC, Authologic raised $8.2 million. These funds are intended to support the company’s international expansion and further development of the platform.

Currently Authologic has offices in San Francisco, London and Warsaw, allowing the company to provide global support for clients from various sectors such as fintech, banking, e-commerce or telecommunications.

An eagle protecting the truth

Disinformation on social media remains a growing threat, especially in crisis situations. With a huge number of published content, manual analysis of fake news and manipulative narratives becomes practically impossible. One example is the incident from Przemyśl in 2022. Widespread (e.g. on Twitter) false information about refugees led to an escalation of social tensions and intervention by authorities. In the face of such challenges, implementing tools that enable quick detection of misinformation becomes crucial, preferably in real time.

In order to tackle this challenge, a consortium of Polish companies (Bielik Consulting, MIM Solutions, and Million Monkeys Software) has developed an advanced tool for analyzing content on social media based on the Polish language model Bielik.AI. Experts from the business, law enforcement and scientific communities participated in the project. As a result, the created solution not only detects misinformation but also provides precise information about emotions, polarization and the context of the analyzed content.

The system works in several stages. The tweets are extracted based on keywords, and then the model checks their match to a specific topic.

The next step is graph analysis, where collected data is enriched with context – interactions between users, related discussions, and information about authors. The most important tweets from each group are then analyzed by Bielik.AI, which evaluates their emotional tone and polarization, and generates summaries of the narratives. Based on this, analysts can draw conclusions and, if needed, dive deeper into the analysis. They just need to add new keywords to the model or expand the selected threads.

The graph shows 11 thousand key tweets, with color-coded thematic groups for analysis by Bielik.AI

Digital security for SMEs

1Strike is a Polish startup that has been recognized in Europe for innovations in cybersecurity. The platform automatically simulates cyber threats like phishing or ransomware to identify security vulnerabilities in systems and suggest corrective actions. The solution uses the AI-Wizard module, which analyzes simulation results and supports strategic decisions, allowing for dynamic risk assessment and increased protection against real-time attacks.

Therefore, small and medium-sized businesses can proactively strengthen their security systems.

1Strike.io has been recognized by the Sifted platform as one of the best European startups in its Cybersecurity 2024 report. The AI-enabled Cat and Mouse Era highlighted 62 companies, with 1Strike.io as the only Polish representative.

[783,785,673,781,674
[36
344,352,340
post-10497","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-ai-industry","category-business","category-hai-magazine-4","category-hai-premium","category-issue-4","difficulty-level-easy
"url2x":"https://haimagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/sk-1.png
Entuzjasta narzędzi GenAI oraz propagator hasła #AIdlakażdego.
